Simple phrase to express tolerance for homosexual relationship

From National Organization for Marriage:

"Gays and Lesbians have a right to live as they choose,
they don’t have the right to redefine marriage for all of us."

Easier for them to fight for marriage to defined as union between males and females (not necessary one-to-one because polygamy marriage such as Muslim polygamy is still marriage) if they would propose or support an alternative term for gay unions and lesbian unions. For example, they can say something like "We support legal unions for gays and lesbians but we oppose re-definition of marriage". To be fair, if they oppose the use of the term "marriage", they need to think of an alternative term (alternative to marriage) to name gay/lesbian unions. This is a win-win way to go, such that everyone gets to live up his/her life in accordance to his/her convictions and worldviews as much as it is possible without causing obvious harm.
