Read from Douglas Groothuis that there is a statement titled 'An Evangelical Manifesto' signed by 80 Evangelical leaders (most from North America, I guess) to be released to the public soon. It's a statement concerning the exploitation of Christian faith in politics. CNN reports,
The statement, called "An Evangelical Manifesto," condemns Christians on the right and left for using faith to express political views without regard to the truth of the BibleRead the whole thing here.
This brings me to think about Malaysia's churches' relation with politics. Seriously, I think that the General Secretary of National Evangelical Christian Fellowship (NECF) Malaysia, Wong Kim Kong, should get a copy of this manifesto. Then he should read and re-read and re-read and re-read it before he goes around churches to speak on Christians political involvement. A subject that he is NOT equipped or prepared or qualified to speak on.
